ChatGPT Will Start Rewriting Your Ads on October 29. Here’s How to Protect Your Brand Creative
OpenAI will rewrite, translate and resize ChatGPT ads by default from October 29. Here’s a five-step checklist to protect your brand creative before the switch.

OpenAI’s help page, updated on October 21, shows that “creative enhancements” will switch on by default for ChatGPT ads from October 29, a day earlier than the October 30 date in the email it sent advertisers on October 20. Once active, the system can rewrite headlines and descriptions, translate ad text, resize images and even change which page on your site a click lands on. These versions can run without you approving each one. OpenAI also said ChatGPT ads are now sold in 89 countries, with more than 100,000 advertisers having run campaigns.
If your brand advertises in ChatGPT, or plans to, here is a five-step checklist to complete before the switch.
Find the setting. In Ads Manager, open Settings and look for the “Creative enhancement” card. It is on by default and covers all four changes together; OpenAI has not described separate controls for each one.
Decide campaign by campaign. Campaign-level settings override the account default, and existing opt-outs are preserved. A sensible approach is to switch the account default off, then turn enhancements on only for low-risk, performance-focused campaigns.
Keep it off where wording matters. Regulated categories, launch campaigns and anything with specific claims, prices or legal lines should stay under human control. A rewritten or translated headline carries the same responsibility as one you wrote.
Audit your landing pages. The system draws on landing-page content and may redirect clicks to other pages on your site. Make sure every page it could choose is current, accurate and on-brand.
Design images that survive resizing. OpenAI has not said whether resizing involves cropping, so keep logos, product shots and text well inside safe margins.
Finally, watch your results closely. OpenAI’s help page notes there is no preview of every variation, and OpenAI has not described reporting that separates enhanced versions from your original. Compare click-through and conversion rates for campaigns with enhancements on and off over the same period, so you have a fair benchmark.
At The Quick Craft, we build ad creative with these realities in mind: flexible layouts, clear safe zones and copy that holds its meaning even when a platform reshapes it, backed by brand rules that spell out what must never change. Automation can help an ad reach the right moment, but your brand should always decide what it says.
