FLUX 3 Max Generates a 10-Second AI Video in About 11 Seconds. Here’s What Faster Video Means for Your Next Campaign
fal launched FLUX 3 Max, built with Black Forest Labs, on October 19, generating 10-second AI video clips in about 11 seconds. Here’s what faster, cheaper video means for brands.

On October 19, fal launched FLUX 3 Max, a new AI video model built on Black Forest Labs’ FLUX 3 foundation and post-trained by fal’s research team. It went live the same day on fal’s platform with two endpoints, text-to-video and image-to-video, both at 720p. The headline is speed. In fal’s own benchmark, FLUX 3 Max generated a 10-second clip in about 11 seconds, roughly 22 times faster than ByteDance’s Seedance 2.5 at a similar quality rating. In preliminary blind human-preference voting on Artificial Analysis’s Video Arena, it scored 1,139 Elo, a 50-point jump over the original FLUX 3 and close to the top of the image-to-video leaderboard, just behind MiniMax H3. Pricing is just as aggressive. Launch pricing is $0.0425 per second of 720p video, 75% off the $0.17 list price, until November 7. That puts a 10-second test clip at under half a dollar. fal’s terms allow content generated through its API to be used in commercial projects.
Why does this matter for brands? Until now, the slowest part of an AI video project has often been waiting. When each clip takes four or five minutes to render, teams test fewer ideas and settle sooner. A model that returns a clip in seconds changes that rhythm. Creative directors can explore ten versions of an opening shot, animate a storyboard into a rough animatic within an hour, or test several ad variations before choosing which to polish. There are limits to keep in mind. Output is 720p, so hero films and large-screen work will still need upscaling or a higher-resolution model for the final render. The leaderboard figures are preliminary, and fal calls this the first iteration of the model. Teams should also check how it handles brand-specific details like logos, products and faces before relying on it for client work. And faster generation does not mean better ideas; it simply means more of them, faster. At The Quick Craft, we treat new models like this as tools in a toolkit, not a replacement for the craft. Speed helps us explore, while human direction decides what is worth finishing. For our clients, that means faster first looks and more options on the table at the concept stage. The brands that benefit most will be the ones that use faster drafts to sharpen the story, not just to produce more content.
